My DM is a guy named Travis on fleet X1. I've had a few since I started, but this guys been awesome so far. But I make sure he gets my ETA/PTA for my delivery every morning and I bug him with info constantly. If I've got an issue, he's gonna know about it before long. And I'm OTR. I tried that Walmart #### for about three weeks and couldn't stand it.

I'm not confused at all... Its great you got a year experience and now you've got the world by the balls... I'm not interested in applying at Wal-Mart... I don't have an 80k/yr job but I do have benefits and 401k matching... I've actually taken a pay cut to drive where I currently am due to being happy... I like where I run and whatnot... Money don't bring happiness all the time and I already know I aint gonna be a millionaire driving a truck so I aint gonna try... Im sure Wal-Mart drivers can make $100k/yr and that's great for them... I hope you do get your job with Wal-Mart after your 3 years of experience... From my experience I haven't ever seen someone driving a Wal-Mart truck that appears to be under the age of 50... Maybe a few in the 40's.... I hear they wont look at anyone with under 10 years experience either... But maybe sense your getting all the "IN'S" you might get IN... How about about that driver? I'm gonna continue trolling... chow

I am not a Wal Mart driver. I just do the same job as a Wal Mart driver. I've been driving for CRE 2 years and on this account over 1yr. I came on this forum to learn things and also answer questions about what I know.

What I know about the WM career is by talking with drivers who work here (Sterling, Il. Dist Ctr) and WM Transportation people. The Op's Mgr's office is in the same building I work out of and he doesn't mind answering questions. Some people who stuck with it for 3 years on this account have been hired on here. If someone does the job perfectly for 3 years they have a very good chance of getting hired on - according to all the above people.

The WM sub contract job pays anywhere fro 800 to 1300/week depending several factors, the main one being hustle. The very same gig as a WM employee pays anywhere from 1400 to 1900/week with really good benefits.

This is just positive and accurate information I'm sharing - what's with your troll attitude? why are you here?

ya, that's good that could make working for such a big company so much smaller.
If you can try and find out who that other DM is his name is Patric real cool guy, I think he went to pods, he's a drivers guy and good to know. If things were ever to go souht for you, You might be able to get a hold of him.

Really i'd try and get a hold of him , try to do some help work for him, let em know that you'd be willing. He'd be a good guy to know if things gone south. I think I remember travis to.ey

had a few good people, but as a company in general they kinda suck.

I have former student who does a west coast dedicated with CRE right now and he said during their safety conference calls the topic is mainly about how many accidents the CRE Wal Mart fleet is having. He told me that during the last call CRE had an extreme amount of accidents/incidents inside the Wal Mart DC's plus the usually rollovers on the highway and apparently a CRE driver went over a 5 ton bridge while pulling a fully loaded Wal Mart trailer.

From what he hears a lot of the Wal Mart drivers think CRE drivers are scabs and they report a lot of the unsafe actions CRE drivers do to the safety department.

This is what happened with the Coca-Cola fleet. A lot of the union Coke transport drivers were complaining that CRE day cab drivers were taking a lot of their work (I remember during their last strike this was a major issue).

The CRE Coke fleet went way down hill from what it used to pay. My flex trainer did the Coke fleet for about 6 years but it got saturated with new drivers that brought the pay way down.
