That happened in our area. The bear had run across the road in front of the deputy's car and started up an almost vertical embankment. The bear lost his footing, fell back and landed on top of the car. The deputy swerved at just about the same time the bear hit the car and the car went over on it's side.
Naturally, a lot of people doubted the deputy's story but there were tracks on the embankment, claw marks in the dirt, along with traces of scat, hide, and hair on the car.
There were also bear tracks in the dirt on the other side of the road, going and coming. The track path for the bear after it hit the car had traces of hair and more bear scat.

So basically the bear **** itself while crossing the road, falling off the embankment and onto the deputy’s squad car. That bear had an “oh ****” moment in more ways than one!!
