So I have a 2024 Freightliner cascadia and my company has this run smart tech on it.. I’ll be driving perfectly normal on cruise speed and the truck will just drop me down to pedal speed because of road conditions 1 or 2 miles ahead like for a hill, mountain. Etc. it’s meant to save fuel but it cuts my speed down at the most inconvenient times. Does anyone know how to turn this off? Google says it’s an antenna connected to a control box but I can’t seem to find it and if you remove the antenna I’m assuming that will disable the tech temporarily.
It is a program in the ECU. So if you mess with it they will find out. Not your truck to go and mess around with it. Have a problem with it go to the company and complain, If that is not good enough go find a different job. No need to tare someone else's stuff up because you do not like it.
I have experienced this as well and other late model Cascadias and it is so unbelievably obnoxious that I asked my company (Roehl) to turn it off but they refused. Most commonly I would be going up a hill and it would just shift into E-Coast and I would begin slowing down rapidly when I needed to be speeding up. Happened every day and there was no shortage of times where I felt unsafe because of this feature.
If you floor the "gas pesdal" it will usually override that speed decrease up until the following distance triggers emergency breaking.
Sounds like another one of those dumb companies that give more speed on the cruise .. he was saying it dropped to pedal speed so I assume it’s set up that way ..
You might be able to change the drop speed in the eco menu to even the pedal. Our company actually tells us to do that but I ain't done it yet so not exactly sure how to
