I was looking for some info on this forum about the FC DD15 with DEF but I could not find anything that I was looking for.
The reason is I'm looking into buying new trucks for my fleet.
Now I have 2011 Volvos with D16 and DEF and I got nothing but problems.
I was wondering if you guys could give me some info on the DD15 with DEF. How long have you had one, if so if you had problems and what kind of problems. Is it worth buying etc. I could probably start another thread on my Volvo problems but man.. I just need something that won't need new Injectors after 250,000!
thanks

We're running 8 DD13s w/ DEF and just ordered 6 more. We've had a couple small sensor issues, but are happy with them. The "virtual technician" is nice because as soon as it shoots a code it notifies a Detroit tech who calls and emails me if they can keep running, need to shut down, or can limp to a dealer. They get good mileage and have a 50k service interval.

The Cascadia is a great truck if you dont get a bad one, I got a bad one. had it for a year and got out of it, the SAM CAB computer was a nightmare, eveytime I came home dealer could download 2 full pages of fault codes from it, bulbs burnt out, etc, only nothing was wrong, too much down time, got rid of it. They had no idea what to do, the area service rep told me I would have to live with it. I know guys who got good ones and bad ones, no reason to have the stereo running thru the computer, just over engineering at it best.

JDP: how many miles do you have on them? I don't mind sensor issues . I don't even remember how many sensors I changed on those volvos. major things are my concern . like fan hubs, injectors, DEF pump. All the problems I'm having with volvos.

Nothing major like that at all. Between 60K and 70K is all. Very happy overall with them. The cab is also hands down better than the columbia as far a quietness and comfort, but that's not saying much.
