Was looking at some videos on the new evolution. Wondering, aside form the hype, if anyone has any real data/info on actual fuel economy, with what configuration?

On my 2015 evolution 10 speed dd15, I get around 9 mpg on light loads, (under 15k), 8-9mpg on 15-30k loads, and 7-8 on heavy loads.

Terrain has a LOT to do with fuel mileage. I get better fuel mileage west to east then I do east to west.

That's what ours did too. Our loads were always under 20k. Mostly going on I-80, I-40. Trucks top speed was 65. We had a 10 speed and an automatic. Loved the automatic.

The only time I got less than 7 mpg was at 44k going up Shasta area from northern ca to Ashland or. It was about 6.5 for that stretch. In flat terrain you will still average 7-8 when loaded heavy

I drive 60 in mostly Cali and Oregon, drove 70 in Arizona and still got 7-8 mpg with a medium heavy load.

Hey CY, what is your take on the DT-12? I was looking at spec'ing our next trucks with them and dealer tells me ALL DT-12 capacity is used up till next year, sounds like FTLHR needs to put another shift on!

It would be between that and the Allison TC-10, I would lean towards the TC-10 BUT, I HAVE to spec a Maxxforce to go with it, and I have no data on 2015+ MF's with DEF.

Unless another OEM steps up with the TC-10, maybe something will come out at MATS?

    Thanks Stan
