This motor runs like a raped ape, 2000 rpm and she says MORE! This is something out of a Penske or Roush Racing garage. This is not the motor I arrived with, this is entirely new to me. I have to change everything, how I shift etc. I am now thinking twice about swapping out the rear ends. This motor just screams, RUN ME!
Fresh in frame, firing her up at Rawze's for 1st time!

I am still wondering how people keep jobs or get hired to so stupidly rebuilding engines wrong? I mean at a dealer is given but a Cummins shop should fire people for the amount of money they steal from hard working people.

Do you know why is the water separator filter so dirty/black?
I replaced injectors on my Volvo D13 and didn't fix this fuel contamination, I thought is caused by carbon leaking from combustion into fuel return through Volvos poor designed injector cups. Some are saying the fuel tanks could be contaminated with algae thriving in 10-20% biodiesel ; even some of the fuel stops underground tanks are contaminated. Another variant I hear, is that the retur diesel containing bio-mass gets half fried in contact with hot surfaces, returns back into fuel tank contaminating the entire tank. I cut open my tin fuel filter also, and was looking same.
I had 3 Volvo truck all with water separator, never noticed this problem. I was in a few shops in past months and I've seen many volvo and Cummins engines with dirty water separator like this. -
Two years ago I bought a rebuilt S60 from a Detroit shop here in town. The only shop that'll work on a Detroit. Smoked, and kept using oil, but never quite enough for a warranty call. In February, all of a sudden the pressure rings on the oil filters blew out on a start. 160 PSI on the oil pressure!
Had my regular mechanic chase that rabbit down the hole, and he found remnants of a cleaning rag in various parts of the engine.
No more smoke, doesn't use any more oil. Not using that shop anymore, either. Ordered a new Kenworth instead.
