I have to admit that my training was not the best...leaving me with some questions.
Pickup time is 6:00 and 6:00...what exactly does that mean?.......I've gotten different answers...it means that the load is available for whenever you get there and the load is to be picked up at 6:00...my first time the pre-assign came in at 9pm and the dispatcher had the first answer.....second time the pre-assign came in during the night and I had a delivery for 6:00 that morning and a driver had the second answer.
I had a pickup time for 11:00 and 11:00 the other day...along with the 6:00 one. By the time I delivered, picked up and got to the second stop it was about 2:00 and on their schedule I was due at 2:30.....why the difference?
What do you do when the pre-assign comes in with a pick-up time the same as your delivery time for the load you have? That's what happened the other day when the pre-assign came in during the night...I always mute my driver tech so I can sleep.
Thanks for any help...doing my best to stay on my FM's good side...it changes from day to day!!!!!

are you talking about the early time and late time if so that is an apt time also check the days i have had pickup at 6:00 and del at 6:00 but it was next day. another thing always check the times when you get assigned you will find that they always do not match preassign times

I typed this in a hurry this morning, so will try to make things a little clearer.
First 6:00am and 6:00am was almost 2 weeks ago. I had delivered at the rail yard in Chicago that morning...spent the day at the terminal waiting. Around 9pm I get a pre-assign to go pick up an empty at the rail yard, bring it to the terminal, and then go out the next morning for my load...pick up time was 6:00am and 6:00am that morning...15 hours earlier. Talked to my night dispatcher and he said "That just means it came in and was ready to be picked up." Because we were trying to get me home, and it would have taken me some time to get the mt the next morning, take it to my load assignment and trade for a loaded one, he told me to find an mt at the terminal...thus saving me enough time to get home the next day....and I made it in with 20 minutes to spare...LOL
The second time was the other day. I had a load to deliver at 6:00am with a PTA of 8:00am. During the night I get the pre-assign with a pick-up of 6:00am and 6:00am that same day. Based on earlier experience, I accepted the load....did my delivery and got done about 7:30...then left to get loaded. Nothing was said about me being late and when I got to my 2nd stop (with an 11:00am and 11:00am pick-up time) their schedule said I was due at 2:30.
I try to make sure and look at the times once the info comes in just to make sure because I have found out that they don't always match the pre-assign times.
