Hey i would really appreciate any advice/opponions from anyone. I took my truck to get alignment since i put all new tires on. After paying and driving off i noticed it was pulling hard to the left. I had to keet my steering wheel turned right to go straight. If i released the steering wheel it would start going left hard. I never did this before. I went back to the shop and told them about it after 2 hours of looking at it they said my right leaf spring was bad and it was causing it to pull left!!! Of course they offered to replace it for around $1000 and it would solve my poblem. I came back from 900 mile run before i had them do alignment and everything was ok. I dont see how a leaf spring could go bad just like than from being in the shop. Any input/opinion or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

They are scamming you... You can get your springs re-arched for a fraction of that cost. Not to mention it wasn't pulling before before you went there.

To tell if your spring is bad is measure from the ground up to the frame. Just be sure you are on flat level ground. Also measure shackle pin to shackle pin on each side. A weak spring will spread the shackle apart.

    aiwiron and Isxpwr Thank this.

I would investigate the adjustments that were made by explanation on billing or even going back to the shop if necessary. Someone boobooed and isn't telling. Don't let them off the hook.

I told our company mechanic what they said he just laughed , and to be safe he did measure it. Barelly any difference on two springs from ground up. He said in his opinion my springs were fine. I just need to get that shop to do something i paidem for and do it right.

I will as soon as i get back and get my hands on that print out. Im almost ready to take it somewhere else and pay them another $200 check alignment. Funny thing, these guys came highly recommended.

I had over a 2 inch sag on one side from a flat spring and it didn't pull...sometimes it's better to write off the first repair if they're fighting you, move on and find another shop.

I agree with bender, I think someone made a mistake and now they are trying to cover it up. If all you had done was a front end alignment it is possible they made a drastic caster adjustment to cause it pull like that. I don't buy the bad spring theory either! Get the alignment results and let us know! Definitely tell them your not happy and it wasn't like that before! Any decent shop will stand behind their work!

I drove over 500 miles with a sagging leave spring and it never pulled.

I was concerned the load would fall over, but I never had a pull.

    Someone biffed the alignment.
