Ugh heat with 4 in cab and 2 being dogs does not mix. Our AC is having issues major ones. We got back bunk AC working full blast and strong. Problem is front AC not blowing strong. Blower motor was new just late this past year. Resistors have been changed and flaps seem to be working. But it's freezing up alot and not really blowing strong. I think holes in hoses to vents but it's a real mess and will takes work to figure it out as it's been like this for over a year. Maybe a bigger blower but we know air is being lost in one are where resistor is supposed to be. It's hanging on it's wires since rivets busted it seems awhile ago. Equity never fixed it right once again.
Gads were going to have to get new wire harnesses for ones we have yet to replace. Plus new hoses I bet or what ever is used to get air to vents. Hubby is planning on whole new dashboard.

We are home because of a blow out. Wednesday it happened. It was a super single left front drive tire. Sounded like a dam cannon going off. It did some damage touch is one reason hubby hates them. Second reason is it cost so much to replace to the tune of $1600.00 for one on the road. They had to come to us unfortunately we just past the exit they came from too.
Anyway, our home mechanic had on hold for us some slightly used duellies plus 2 steers. They were off a Volvo that was trashed but tires were almost new. So we got them with everything to replace our super singles.
We also had to replace 5 maker lights and turn signal light that the blow out took out. That sucked for they were knew just 3 weeks ago. This time led were put in and new wire. Next time home hubby will do other side so they match.
We had a very good week so blow out did not put us in hole at all. Even with tire coming out it was a $2400+ check. So we got Bill's paid and hubby and I upgraded our old tablets.
We spent time fixing AC on the road too. Hope that's done for now. At least I hope cooler weather is in for now. Been in low 80s and 70s here. We go back on the road tomorrow for 3 more weeks. But we have a weekend event for dogs in Jasper Arkansas second week out. So that will be a nice break as it's at campgrounds.
Stay safe all.Farmerbob1, UturnGirl and Highway Sailor Thank this. -
We're still here and paying our truck off. Repairs on truck have been interesting. We have had to fix right alot of minor stuff that was fixed wacky. New tires trailer and truck. Got rid of stupid super singles put duelies back on rides much smoother now no change on mpg.
Were doing good will have truck paid off next June. We wanted earlier but doing all these fixes made that not a option.
Still to buy new and larger turbo, done this week and new headlamps. Need correct install for them. Only major issues was SS blowout thank goodness. Which led to tire swap. Hubby doing last load now in NC before coming home for a week.
Happy Thanksgiving all.Farmerbob1, Highway Sailor, popcorn169 and 3 others Thank this. -

Hubby back on the road with new headlights. He only got 3 days in last week. But it was more than enough to cover all the Bill's and headlights plus some left over. Wish all weeks were as good as those 3 days.
I am home with dogs as I came down with sever sinus issues. Normal for me when cold hits this hard and fast. So I am laid up in bed most of the day for another couple. But all is good. Be safe all.UturnGirl, Farmerbob1 and Bumper Thank this. -

Hello all long time no see. Hope everyone had a good Christmas.
We did get our title earlier this year. Hubby still trucking and running well. It's been a tight year but could have been worse. 2018 we made way to much money last half. That was when hubby shifted from leased company that he was buying truck from to owner company that he pulls refer for now.
I hope things level out more this year but insurance is up so that hurts right off the bat. But were official Owner Operator now. Still on with private owner company getting 85% of load.
Repairs have been alot of correction and redos and clean ups from old company where we got truck from but most is done now. Just bought new batteries at Rural King for total of $355 for all 4 not bad at all.
I just thought I would update all. I know this section is now mostly obsolete as leasing is being dropped by alot of companies. Lots of companies going under too and many owners hanging up keys permanently. Not us yet but it might happen down the road. Hubby been driving for 11 years now 5 for ODFL as company driver rest as lease purchase and now as owner Operator. We are thinking of our own numbers time will tell what new year brings.
Happy New Year all best wishes. -
Hmmm that is interesting, where did you hear all that?
Leasing is being dropped by a lot of companies? Lots of companies going put of business and owner ops retiring?
From what I can tell looks like more companies than ever are leasing. Every year for as long as I can remember. A few large companies have gone under or been bought out. Especially around xmas and end of the year.
As for owner ops hanging it up. That's another another thing that has happened every year forever. I myself am coming up on 30 years and kinda look forward to my turn to get out.JetFuel17 Thanks this. -
Now add in California AB5, essentially making contracting illegal, with the exception of lawyers, barbers and construction. Pretty much all the trucking companies have terminated their leases, for California residents. That includes the all owner op companies, such as Mercer and Landstar.
