They ask you to stay out 10 to 14 days. Depending where you live you could be home more. I started at .35 anything from Md. North on the East coast the pay is .45 $25 per stop after the first stop on extra p/u and del. $50 borough pay for any stops in the boroughs or Long Island. There equipment is top notch.

hehehehehee seems like I keep skipping days, huh? Oh well.... I am such a slacker!
Today was quite interesting. I got a load that was cross-docked at the Richmond terminal yesterday, and it was a two stopper.
There were a few items that were supposed to be dropped in Gallatin, but it ended up being at an office building in the downtown district. What's more, the customer (receiver) had no means by which to get the pieces off the trailer, which were heavy, and high on the trailer. Called dispatch and they jumped all over it, trying to come up with a resolution, trying to find a lumper service, or SOMEONE to unload the trailer, stating that they did not want me to do the unloading. Long story short, the "receiver" recruited some people, and I handed the items down to them and we got the job done. Each piece was about 90 lbs and I had to hand them down from the top. Just glad I didn't lose my balance.... talk about losing cool points, huh? But I was very impressed at how quickly dispatch went to work to solve the issue, AND stayed in touch with me throughout, advising me of what they were trying to do. It was good to know there was someone at the office, trying to make it happen. You don't always get that kind of attention at other places I have been.
So I scooted out of town, down the road to Moscow (nice little drive down TN-76, if you ever get the chance), dropped the load, snatched another trailer that was pre-loaded, and I am on my way back to Richmond. When I get there, I am supposed to drop the trailer at the yard, and they will have another load ready to go when I get there.
So yeah, still happy..... gotta sit on my hands to keep from waving at everyone.

Tonight I am in Fayetteville, NC, delivering tomorrow morning at 8am.
Yesterday, I ran from Moscow to Wytheville, Va and shutdown at the J. Got to see my buddy Ironryder, had dinner with him, and then crashed. Got up this morning, ran across VA to Richmond, dropped my trailer at the yard, and reloaded (hooked) to a trailer headed for Fayetteville.
Hadn't heard what tomorrow will bring, but I am sure they'll have something.
One thing I have to say. They are very organized and they have lots of freight. I have no worries that I will keep running. 6 days = 2600 miles. I am pleased. And I haven't even broke a sweat yet. They give you lots of time to get where you're going. At least that is my experience so far.
More to come!123456, scottied67, Montgomery and 1 other person Thank this. -
OK, so I got a week and a day (well, actually half a day) on the road with Abilene, and I totaled out just over 3500 miles. So far, what they said (recruiting) comes true. Made my way back up to the yard in Richmond this afternoon. Immediately, they got to working on getting me back out. Now, the two things they had to consider was - 1.... I was low on hours, but will start recycling my hours (during this whole time, they ran me where I never needed a restart), and 2.... I am scheduled for hometime this weekend (from all indications, it is very important that they get me hometime when I want it). We ended up coming up with a solution (and yes, I was part of the decision making process) where I will go home tomorrow instead of Saturday for my hometime, and I got a real nice light load going to the St Pete area in Florida (yeah, I'm ok with that
) ). Whats even more, I will get to swing by and see my parents.
When I got to the yard today, I pulled into the truck wash at the Abilene facility and gave Geneve (my truck) a bath and vacuumed her out. Gotta be looking good for the folks, right?
I know there are some people out there that did not have good experiences with this company (in fact, the guy I went through orientation with had MAJOR issues.... but most of them were becausse of his own problems and hangups), but I am very pleased with everything so far. Great people, great dispatching, and great equipment. No complaints here!!! -
do they do much nyc,or long island exc??
-
I agree..... I have had no complaints yet either. I delivered in Philly last night .. Had a pre plan to dead head back to Richmond and grabbed another quick load up to NJ for a 0800 delivery tomorrow. The thing I have been impressed with thus far is that they are very good at utilizing the hours I have available. Today I put in 596 miles all on I95. No probablem running the NE sometimes, it pays.10 more a mile from Maryland on up. Enjoy your time at home and he safe.
Strykor Thanks this. -
Do they hire out of NJ? Could be a pretty sweet deal if they're paying me extra to go home... Lol. Seems like you spend alot of time in Richmond, which might be pretty nice in the winter. Do you get many loads west? I spoke with Curtis briefly, and he said he was going to get a pack of info to me in the mail a few weeks ago, but it must have gotten lost... Lol.
