I started out my driving career in May of this year. And like many of you before I did anything I went to the internet looking for that o' so valuable info. That's where I found this site.
I researched schools and companies before I committed to anything and once I found what I was looking for in a school off I went.
After school I went to what would be my first company. I didn't plan on leaving there for a while but things don't always work out as planned. It was ok tho as I had another company in mind I wanted to go to and it all worked out.
I've been solo since June and it really IS one of those love/hate kinda of jobs. And believe me it will turn your life and everyone around you's life upside down for a while. But as long as you have a good strong relationship you'll work thru it.
People ask "what's the best advice you have".
Best advice.... Don't give up.
If you truly want to do this then stick with it. Remember when everyone was telling you the first couple of months are the hardest. How do you think they know...
Listen to what the more experienced drivers teach you. And yes you'll learn real quick which ones really know there stuff.
Everyone's not watching you. Everyday I see drivers try and back into spots and give up. Never give up. I don't care if it takes you 15 minutes to park don't give up. You will only learn by doing it and trust me once you get to the point that you can do it easily it's awesome to see how far you've come.
Help others out. If you see someone having difficulty with something help them out. Something you might have learned earlier they might not have been told about yet.
And EVERYONE messes up. It's what you learn from those mistakes that makes the biggest difference.
From one FNG to another.
