Awesome. I’ll be applying at Sysco, us foods, Pepsi, coke, and a few milk companies that deliver to stores.

I do quite well at coke. They have several different types of jobs too. Day delivery, night bulk delivery, full service (restocking soda machines in a lil f550 sideloader...cool job), line haul (what I do 90% of the time) and some tanker jobs hauling phosphoric acid and stuff like that. One thing with coke to remember tho is they are ALL independent bottlers so while my job isgood and I'm sure there are plenty of other good one I wouldn't be surprised if some suck. You can't go off reviews because only negative people rate jobs for the most part.

Nah, I had driven for years but I know we take and train new guys. Get good with that 10 speed because you will likely not see an automatic.

Beer and soda distributors *tend* to pay less than *most* food service jobs, and are more likely to take you straight out of school.

Things can vary from area to area, and company to company.

If you want to work food service one route in is to start with a company like McLane in the warehouse or better yet as a driver helper and after a year or so, (depending on in house rules) go through their driver apprenticeship program to become a route driver.

Thanks. I won’t mind being paid less starting off because chances are it’s sol more than I’m making now lol.

I know a driver for McLanes. Makes fantastic money but cant stand working there anymore. Idk. Every place has its ups and downs.

Nice. I just did some dethatching myself. Bought one of those electric greenworks off of Amazon. Worked good. There is a sweet roller aerator out there for about $250 that is manually operated but looks as good as a machine but not as labor intensive as the step kind. I think it’s made by Amick. I didn’t pull up nearly as much as you. I filled up two of those cans, did the cleanup with the rotary mower. Had to hire out a company to aerate, overseed, and fertilize because I’ve been on the 6 day 70 hour week plan for a month with no end in sight. Hated to do it but I needed that seed down. Cool to see another lawn guy on here. Sorry to derail the thread fellas.
