Just thought I would post about this as I found it rather comical and telling. Last week I applied to Prime and as soon as my application was picked up a recruiter called me and asked several questions on my history and in the end he said everything looked good and that I should get a call about mid week this week from another recruiter to get set up but to call him back last Friday in the evening to check on the status with him. Well I called his extension like 3 times Friday as instructed with no answer so I called again Saturday morning and found out my App hadn't even been started. The lady I talked to said she would get it started right away and someone would be in touch on Wednesday but if I hadn't heard anything by Wednesday afternoon then I should call in and check again. Soo I call Wednesday and get a guy this time and he informs me that the company I left last year wasn't going to be able to send my work history till next week and I informed him that I could get it for him so I got him a fax number and had him fax the form to a different branch of the company (the one I actually worked for) and they filled it out and sent it right back. I called the next day to find out if I was still going to be able to make the class for this next Tuesday and got a lady this time and she said the safety dept. had it and she would know within the hour whether it was all set or not and would call me back as soon as she knew to let me know, well I waited 24 hours and no call so I called back and this time each time I would call I would get put on hold and routed to the voicemail of my original recruiter that was on vacation and won't be back till Monday.
Now the whole time I am working on another job that is waiting on an answer of when I will be leaving the same as me so I gave up and found an add on craigslist for TMC and called it last night around 10 pm, this morning at 8:30 a lady named Amy called me and said she was a recruiter for MTC training out of St Louis and she explained who she was and what the school was and asked if I would like to apply> I give her my information for the app and tell her I have really wanted to work for TMC from the start of my explorations 2 months ago and so she tells me she is writing that on my application so that the people that send out the app can hit TMC up first and tell them I have a high interest in their company. After taking my information she tells me that it normally takes the school 24 to 48 hours to accept the application and to get it out to companies and get offers back from said companies and she said that since it is Friday and they have some sort of staff meeting on Monday that it would be next Tuesday before I would likely hear from her. I said ok and that ended that call. Approximately 3 hours later I get a call from her congradulating me on both being accepted at the school and being the fastest person she had seen accepted at TMC for training and asked me when I would like to start school.
I personally think this shows the difference between a wannabe company and a professional company. I farted around with Prime for 9 days and got myself set up with TMC in 3 hours, LOL. Now before anyone starts on MTC, I have read the reviews and know what to expect at school but I will tough it out to get to that home of the black and chrome in Iowa.

Prime has a ton more applicants to deal with keep that in mind but good job, anyway, home of the black and chrome? lol. Destination, eventually. You do want flatbed yes?

good luck with tmc. from what I have heard. if the truck or trailer gets anykind of rock chip on it. they fire the driver. I have some family that works in one of the shops for tmc. that's how i know. so you have to be very careful. plus tmc has a really bad habit of saying they will hire some one. and then change their mind. so I would call Tmc directly. and speak with one of the recruiters. and make sure they really are going to hire you driver recruiter agencies of a bad habit of saying thing that aren't always true.

Yup, I was going flatbed with Prime as well. I was actually going to prime to get the training and if they treated me well then maybe stay with them but if not I working toward TMC from the beginning. I try to always have a back up plan. I don't really have a best of the best about any company but I have studied TMC inside and out as well as plenty of other companies and they stand out as the company I think I would be most content with atm so I am glad I get to just start there from the beginning.
