Finally got my truck repaired by about 5:30 PM EST. I got to stay on the California load and now my truck has a new spring on the right side and 4 new drive tires on that axel. Had to drive until about 2:00 AM Friday night to get back on schedule. I am in Las Cruces NM tonight. I plan to run about 500 miles tomorrow and shut down in Yuma Az right on the California line. That will put me about 170 miles from the WWTP. I should be able to get in and out without having to stay in California. I have a delivery window of 7:00-17:00 and will aim for 7:00. I am still on eastern standard time so the early start time will be easy. They will probably deadhead me to Houston from there.

The breakdown sucks ..
But at least you kept the CALI load ... That makes it alright in the end ... -
I also must state I am BLESSED to be here this company is TOPSHELF in my humble opinion
Leave out tomorrow to load in ST.Louis and then head back to Augusta GA for a window of 1200- 2000 Tuesday delivery at P&G in Augusta just down from the terminal..
Last week went well also ..
All but getting hammered in the snow storm in MEMPHIS with an empty tank other than that I really cant complain at all
VERY BLESSED
My truck # is 2636 if you ever see me ROB give me a shout...

I guess you saw my thread about
Q/C shutting down a Memphis company owned terminal and selling QUALA-WASH..
And Miller laying off tons of drivers .. (which was due to us in part taking the EXXON account from them which was their bread and butter) Superior got about 45% of the account soley and 2 other companies got the rest of it . But I think we are due to get another 5% in the next year is what I am hearing ....
The Q/C shut down I think not 100% sure but I believe we took the MEMPHIS DUPOINT account from them with 93 lanes in 30 states .. dont know if we got it all but from what I hear we got at least 50-60% of that biz
We also picked up some freight in ST Louis (small account ) for P&G about 5 or 6 lanes
also got a one time deal near st louis for 60 loads coming up in May this year this might end up being a small account for us if we do well..
Thats all I have heard from MEMPHIS I am sure we have got much more business else where also this is just what I know.. -
That sounds real good for us. Sucks for the other guys We probably
have lost a couple of accounts elsewhere. These things tend to even out. I was talking to a driver out of Marion Tenn a few weeks ago. He told me they had layed off a bunch of drivers because they lost a big account.
Things do seem to be picking up in the system. I am in Yuma Az now and there is another Superior truck here. Given the fact that we don't have terminals this far west someone else is getting some good miles. They are sending me to Pasadena but it will probably be Thursday before I get there. I am bumping my 70 with only 8, 9, 7.5 to drive the next 3 days. Its about 1300 miles from where I am so I can't make it legally in 16 hours.
I don't mind though. You guys can fight the snow while I trash around truck stops in my shorts. -
We got terminal there? Or u talking bout another company laying off
The snow sucks
I am in oak grove ky headed to Augusta .. Tomorrow -

3/1-3/5
Everything went just as planned. I shut down in Yuma Az at the Loves Sunday night. Left out about sunrise the next day and got to the customer by around 1:00 EST. Southern California is really beautiful in the spring. I have spent around 2 months total in various parts of California over the past 20 years attending national swim meets. I was always there in the summer. Most notable thing I remember is how brown everything not irrigated was. Not so in the spring. The grass on the hill sides were green like they should be.
This plant is 1/2 a mile from the ocean. I talked to the guys there and they were real nice. They told me if I ever got this run again that I could sleep at the plant. They even have a nice bathroom area complete with showers. You can walk to the beach and there are places to eat down there. I plan to beg for this load again when I get back and take them up on it.
Unloading took less than 2 hours and I stopped at the same Loves in Yuma for the night. There was another Superior Driver camped out there. His curtains were pulled so I didin't meet him.
Just as I expected I was tank washed for Pasadena Texas. By then I was bumping my 70 and running on rollover hours. I stopped in New Mexico and again in Ozona Tx. Had a great steak at the Circle bar truck corral.
Ran the last 8 hours into the terminal and got a load to Baton Rouge La preloaded to leave at 8:00 AM in the morning. That gets me a little closer to home even though its only 250 miles. Here at the terminal I met the driver who was at they Yuma Loves. Turns out he runs out of Greer and was a school student like me who got hired about the same time last year. Real nice guy. The terminal here in Pasadena has a washer and dryer so I did a load of laundry.
Its good to get to keep moving. I was expecting a layover. That still may happen tomorrow.
