Fees charged for excess time allowed under bill of lading or other agreement for unloading carriers equipment. They held him up for no good reason and he got paid for it. Used to be the norm and now most companies let the driver take it up the arse and sit around for free.

New to this site, been with Superior for 3 years now and still loving it!!! I really enjoy reading your posts and find it refreshing to hear the positive from the "new drivers". Hope you stick around for awhile, I love going to the Memphis terminal, great loads, friendly staff...lousy parking though...not as bad as Keasby! Have to buy ya a coffee some time.

I have been a contractor/driver with Fedex Ground for the last 9 years. They have been great. I own three trucks leased to them on dedicated runs. I got an offer to buy my company that I am debating on accepting. I have called and talked to many recruiters any can not seem to find a company that fits.

From reading your and wsyrob's threads Superior looks to be a company that will work for me. I need to thank you and wsyrob for posting such professional and well written threads.

I have an interview with Shellea this afternoon at the Memphis terminal. She told me she only had an opening for OTR driver. I hope this will work for me as I am really getting tired of looking for a good, no GREAT company.

Thanks again for responding. One quick question do the OTR drivers get home weekly .

One more question. After tank school do you go out with a trainer? If so for how long until you are on your own. I do not have any tank experience.

I am an OTR driver and only reset on the road 3 or 4 times in 2008. They try if you want to get home.

    chiz2003 and davan2004 Thank this.

Probably only for 3 weeks max with your experience. They will cover the paperwork, systems on the tank, air and pump unloads and driving techniques to handle the surge. Terminals differ but for the most part its local work. You will not sleep in the truck and if they do send you out OTR will stay at company hotels.

    davan2004 and chiz2003 Thank this.

Thanks for responding. Do you know where Memphis drivers mainly run?

Correct me if I am wrong but from what I have learned so far I would start by going to Kingsport for tanker training. Then spend approximately 3 weeks running local with a trainer. Maybe some OTR work but not much.
