I am wondering if anyone knows, how much farther ahead a set forward axle is on a Peterbilt 388, 389, 367 compared to a set back T800?
I'm trying to figure out what wheel base would be close to identical to a 235" T800 in front to rear length (bumper to bumper).
What's the approximate difference in inches between the set back and set forward?
Front axle distance T800 vs 388 vs 389 vs 367

Sure, that's easy. Call KW or Pete. and ask for a design engineer. Every tractor is different.
DocHoliday Thanks this. -
I told the builder of my new home what color of the buttons on the sleeper I wanted. Be sure of what you want, YOU have to pay for it, and live with it.

I would like to thank tramp for the useless posts. I didn't know Pete and KW made custom hood lengths for every truck, that's quite refreshing to know.
SL3406 Thanks this. -
They do not they are set axle spacings, but you have options on some Models. The T800 has a lot of different models. At least 5 different hoods IIRC. I responded to your thread on NAT with some specs.

Thanks durallymax, very helpful.
Anyone know the Back of cab to axle spacing's on any of the pete's I listed. -
I can try and help a little but I'm a little confused as to what you want also. A 389 should be 127 BBC and 388 should be 119 BBC. Just because the truck has a set back axle doesn't automatically make the BBC shorter. I know the older T-800 came in 120 BBC lengths and a shorter one(maybe 110"). I've no idea at all on the 367. Good luck maybe some one else can fill in the gaps.

well, a 388 pete would have a short hood vs the long hood on the 389. the 388 took the place of the old 379 short hood and the 389 took the place of 379exhd. not sure of an exact answer for your question but I would think it would be between 6 and 12 inches. the 388 would be the closer of the 2 to the t800 and the 389 would be more like a w900. If that helps.
