I just left American Eagle due to unsafe load booking. I had no other complaints with them. I was getting good miles but be careful of the high value loads. They are alot of extra work. The problem I had was the "hot" loads that had to p/u and deliver on time. The run that made me see there was a future of safety problems ahead was booked at 8.5 hrs when their own handbook said it should take 9.4 hours to do. I knew from previous experience that 8.5 hours from the p/u city to the del city was not enough time as I used to run that quite regularly.

Overall, if you can stay away from those loads they are pretty good. I aso had a problem with them in that they lured me there by saying they paid for Idle Aire then a week after I start driving they send a q/c message saying they were beginning a new fuel bonus program with idling incentives and they were no longer going to pay for Idle Aire. They said to ask the FM for details which I did on several occasions with no response. The primary reason I chose them over another company I was looking at was for Idle Aire.

One other thing about their terminals. If you pull in to one, you cannot leave without a gate pass. No bobtailing to buy groceries etc. All in all, they treated me fair I just had problems with load scheduling and th change regarding Idle Aire.

PawPaw sorry to see you go but did you know that you can get an Idelair card and pay for it yourself It's not that expensive. as for the loads I chose the job I haul If I think it can't be done or I think it's not safe I refuse it and they give me another load. You have to use your comin since if you the it' wrong don't take it. I have never had a problem with them as yet

I was given no choice but accept the load. FM's words, "Do the best you can." CSR's words, "Go straight to the receiver." As for Idle Aire, it costs approximately $32.00 per night with tax at the Gold Card rate. I was not making enough to make that a viable option. Plus it was the lure to get me to come their. Even talked with the Driver Relations Manager before coming to find out exactly how it worked so they knew it was important to me.

You've got to be kidding us! The company expected you to pay for the Idle Aire? Let me see if I understand this. They want you to keep your idle down (saves them money) and expect you to pay out of your pocket to be comfortale when you are off duty? In their truck?

Red flag alert! Run from this company ASAP! The worst part of this was the comment you made about not making enough money to even pay for it!

There are better companies out there. Do yourself and your family a favor and get out, now! What a sad state of affairs. I hope others don't find this as acceptable!

No they did not expect you to pay for Idle Aire. They use opti idle on the truck (which is a real joy to sleep with). One of the recruiting tools that led me to chose them was that they were offering Idle Aire as an incentive. They would put $75.00 a day on your ComData card for Idle Aire. Then a week in with them, they announced they were beginning a new fuel bonus program andas such would no longer be paying for Idle Aire. The problem I had is I asked for details on the program a couple of times and never received the info.

I ran with LML from 1998-2003 and they were very good to me. Miles and hometime were no problem. If you will work with them and be honest and up front...they will take care of you.

well, I have pulled a reffer for over 30 years. once inn a while you have a issue at a warehouse, but you have issues once in a wile everway. the ffe companies are not really nice people. you really have to watch your pay check because they will try to cheat you out of 40% of it. there a lot of good companies you could work for.
