Millis has a great reputation. I was slated to start with them in January of this year, but ended up choosing a much smaller company prior to starting with Millis. I had done a bunch of research on companies prior to starting this new career in trucking and Millis was always towards the top of my list.

Dollar General, in general, is both a good and bad account.
One store here in Greensboro, NC,
on Groometown Rd., just had a separate business next door constructed AND the only in/out access uses the D.G. in/out access.
Such will definitely become a HAZARD for 4 wheels let alone for T.T. deliveries.
Just an information post.

Thank you all again for the responses! It’s been a heck of a week. I talked to my instructor originally from my CDL school about this, he said the same as you all did. After reading all your responses, I put myself into action.
Like an idiot, I quit before I had a job. The next day applied for a company. Two days later and I interviewed and was hired. I start next week. It’s honestly a better fit of a job for me. In the interview, they drilled the Smith system into me, gave me a ton of safety videos, and have already shown what a company SHOULD be like in terms of safety/laws… and I haven’t started yet. They’re no-nonsense, I’m the captain of my truck, and it’s looking very promising.
I was terrified leaving this job. I worked towards this from the beginning, and thought I was stuck in it for at least a year so my DAC wasn’t completely screwed. Nothing to worry about on this one. I already have more contacts in this company, including a safety manager, before hiring, than I did after working a week at the old company. That’s impressive to me.
My wife is pregnant, due in July. This new company already offered me time off for it. Heck of an upgrade and I get to stay local until I’m ready to go OTR. Thank you all again, I honestly don’t know if I would have made the leap of faith without you all validating that the first company just isn’t for me. So I appreciate it. To better roads ahead!Just passing by, austinmike, gentleroger and 1 other person Thank this. -
