I have run the Firestone FS591's exclusively on my last two trucks. Both trucks are using the 11R/24.5 rubber. The 2005 International 9900iX that is my backup truck now has run 182,XXX on one set and 187,XXX on the second set.

My current truck is a 2014 International 9900i and it had new FS591 steers on it when I bought it but they were never balanced and one tire had developed some road wear that would never allow the tire to balance out using Counteract Balance Beads which I use in and on everything including the personal vehicles at home. When I replaced them Southern Tire Mart gave me $150 in credit for each casing.

The new FS591's on the steers now have 127,XXX and I believe I will be able to get close to 200K out of them. They are holding up just fine with minimal rock damage and nice even wear.

They ride decent enough but have been a solid, durable tire option for me on these crazy roads. Never had a flat repair too either.

I’ve been running Firestone 591 or Bridgestones 293a or 284 I believe is their new one for over a decade. The firestones usually only $25 cheaper or so than the Bridgestones. I have a Michelin account and love the Xdn2 but Michelins prices are insane even with having an advantage account. Something like $250 more per tire. That said it’s probably because I run 11r24.5.

I do only get about 120k out of them and the shoulder always wears odd. I do good alignments and have new kingpins and everything. I’ve been told on hood trucks a solid shoulder rib tire would perform better than a style like the 591.
