It's probably around .15 a gallon better with NASTC. I think OOIDA is 5-6 cent a gallon and I'm averaging around 20 with NASTC. Well worth the $250 per year.

Fuel at Lee's Travel Center in Clinton, TN today was 3.4792/gallon. At the TA Knoxville East (x374) was 3.4793/gallon. Lee's pump price was 3.799/gallon while TA's was 3.819/gallon. I fueled at Lee's (not busy, has food options nearby, compared to the Knoxville East TA which has no restaurant, only a hotcase, and the only thing around to eat is the Bojangles which is a bit of a walk and across a very busy highway).
So, I only got a 32.08cpg discount, while if you fueled at the TA you'd have gotten a 34.08cpg discount. Yet, prices were relatively the same (no 1cpg on a rewards card at Lee's, though).
If you figure even 10cpg discount above what the OOIDA price is on average, it only takes 2500 gallons to break even with the price of membership (at 6mpg, that's 15,000 miles). But, if it's 20cpg or 30cpg... it's a lot quicker to pay off that annual charge. Plus, you get tire discounts at TA/Petro. -

I save around $50 every time i fuel in Texas and Louisiana I pay about $3.55/gal for fuel right now in most states

I'm with NASTC also. Nothing bad to say whatsoever. I also save $30 to $60 every fill up off of cash price. Between .20 - .50 per gallon at TA and Petro. And you always have showers on your card. I did the paying with cash and with a credit card to earn cash back for a few years before changing over to NASTC. Did not even come close to what I am saving now. Gave up on most mom and pop stops long ago as most seem to be owned by foreigners and are run down into the ground. I have never met anyone who was not happy with NASTC and the only criticism I see on here about them is about having to attend the 1 time orientation or from folks who are not on the program but think they know. Trust me, you will be happy. And no, I don't get paid for saying good things about them.

Your discount gets connected to you when they bill. It shows up AFTER you've negotiated your price. And make sure they price you properly. If they see you get a discount, they may make that $400 tire at $490 because they see the computer is giving you a $90 discount. Which means it shows up at the same price they quoted. The discount should be after your negotiated price. Saved $900 on 10 tires last year at Petro (new steers and drives).Iron-Man, nofilter and Oscar the KW Thank this. -
