    Yep great shortcut. I did it in my rig, I just wish I would have stopped for some chilies in Hatch.

    Stay away from any 85 octane or high ethanol fuel. Yeah it's cheaper but the mpg will suck. With the trailer figure 6mpg to be safe.

    Well, I made it to my new home OK. But I didn't use 85 octane ethanol fuel in the Diesel truck I was driving. I just pulled into and blocked the truckers diesel island just like the big boys do. Then left it parked in the fuel bay while I showered, had dinner, and watched TV in the truckers lounge. Then a hour or so later hit the road again! LOL

    With some of those old Caddies he would be better off putting the Penske truck on the car trailer and cruising in style...

    Those things were monsters.

    I gave him mpg's fully loaded with a car hauler and car doing 65-70 mph. I recorded fuel and mileage because it was tax deductible. I got 10 mpg. It's not an 18 wheeler. :)

    Anyways he's already there and settled in.

    the route thru ia to kc to albaqur down to i10 is 1715mi
    the route down 39 to 55 to 44 to okc to 40 then down to 10 is 1780mi.

    google map it. will give you a show of which is best route
