    Overtime pay is not required by law. Trucking has an exemption from the law that applies to all other hourly employees. But many companies choose, or their contract requires, to pay drivers OT wages for OT work. It's pretty normal for fuel haulers to get OT pay.

    Pay varies greatly depending on what area of the country you live in and which company you work for. Be prepared to start by working night shift until someone one day shift retires.

    That's good advice. If you have to wait for someone to retire in order to move up that's actually a good thing. It means people stay there and if they stay until they retire it's usually the sign of a good outfit.
    Beware the ones that advertise "We're always hiring". There's usually a bad reason or a bunch of bad reasons for that.

    I can tell you as a local hauler in the Boston Massachusetts area we do about 3-5 stops a day and it's a dog eat dog industry especially at the racks

    Night shift is more than likely going to be your starting it sucks and either a sun-thurs or a tues-sat starting at 2-5pm
