Never fill one filter from the old one. Dip it out of your tank with something clean. Put a hole in you thermos cup if you have to and put a piece of wire on it to let it into tank. Or a clean soda can.

Fillimg new from the old can have negative side affects... Small globs of gunk can fall into inside of filter element and be sucked further into engine... Use a small piece of hose to siphon fresh fuel from tank... Let fuel flow through siphon hose into another container for a few seconds to ensure hose is clean, then fill the new filter.

Edit: I have use pieces of broken air lines to siphon fuel into filters before... They work good.

I carry one of those siphon hose that have that check ball in the end. I left it curled up and when i tried to uncurl it and siphon, that hose was one stubborn curly mother. When i got home i laid it in the sun all weighted down to give it a new attitude.

When they took a fuel lane and put that stupid (to me at least) tire psi lane in. That was the last straw. Was at hubbard ohio, all lanes 1 to 2 deep. I pulled into the tire lane and proceeded to fuel . Guy came out and says what tires you want checked. Told him none as i check my own tires. He says well you should not be in this lane then. I said i came her for fuel, not tire business. Bunch of goofballs.
