There's a story that happened this week. Not once but twice.

We won't go in to that.

But i can tell @dirthaller when one F's up.

 

To the best of my knowledge Polish truckers aren't getting visas to work trucking jobs in the states. They stay in the EU and go to Western Europe. Please provide a source for Polish truckers and Polish visas into the US, I don't think that's accurate.

The Europeans that come to the US to drive trucks are the Russians and Ukrainians, but not the Polish.

If you can provide sources on Polish truckers coming to America on visas en masse, I'll be the first to admit my mistake.

 

Well, I'm editing this post because while at first I disagreed with Wargame's claim the immigrants were causing wages to drop, upon further inspection I found some surprising results. To be clear It's definitely not only European drivers who may be creating a labor surplus (and certainly not Polish immigrants), but quick Google search says the truck driving work force is at about 20% immigrants in 2023. That's way more than I thought.

So I don't know. In the very least it would probably be wise for politicians to make some studies to see if we there's too much immigration for trucking jobs right now. 20% visa holders does seem like a very high percentage for a whole sector of the economy.

sorry for picking on the Polish, I’ll put it a different way here. The Freakin Europeans suck at driving trucks in the United States of America. There ya go, I put them all in one basket, so we don’t get them mixed up.

 

I can't, they're (Russians, Polish, Ukrainians) all Slavic people, so I mean they all look basically the same. I can't tell them apart personally.

I just know that it's notoriously hard for EU citizens to get any kind of visa here in the US, and Poland is in the EU. People in Eastern European countries who are in the EU generally just go to Western Europe if they want higher wages, because they can legally live and work over there with very little paperwork or legal hassle.

But again I could be wrong, maybe there are more Polish drivers in the US than I thought.

 

hey buddy, we don’t hate nobody. It’s just the facts going down the road, and at the truckstops, these guys are horrible , they are slobs. I’m not gonna paint a pretty picture for these guys . everyone had to deal with them on more than one occasion. Driving a commercial vehicle takes time, practice, accuracy, and courtesy. And I don’t see that with the European drivers

 

It’s not only European. Lots of south Asian ie: Indian, Pakistani and Chinese. Chinese are mainly coming from LA and NY. They don’t bother me as bad as the Ukrainian and Russian. The eastern euro guys just plain don’t give a F.
