Missouri's fuel tax is $0.17/gal, making the actual cost of their fuel $2.72. Illinois tax rate is $0.35/gal, making the actual cost of a gallon of fuel $2.64. Since you pay for what you use in each state, the only way to avoid paying Illinois would be to go around, so by fueling in Missouri, you just paid $0.08 more per gallon than you needed to pay.nax, driverdriver, p608 and 2 others Thank this.

but that's a bad example I do or will not support the communist governments that is in charge of Illinois. .. also new Jersey new York and California. . buy buying fuel in these states you are essentially loaning them money ...... I also do not deliver or pickup in sanctuary cities on principles and besides most of the sanctuary places have bad traffic and are pretty much anti truck so let them haul there own stuff .... and was just through Illinois and I didn't see any fuel under $3

Good move, but the cost of the fuel changes almost daily and it's amazing how much they move about. I use the "America moves by truck " website a lot, it helps a lot in finding the cheapest fuel per state but where you buy it within that state depends on your discounts and checking fuelbooks!
