The devalued dollar is one big problem... but those 'past peak' oil fields can be mitigated by drilling in new fields... we just need to kick some enviro-wacky ###....

According to the Wall Street Journal, look for China to increase purchase of crude to fill their Strategic Oil Reserve, which is only about 1/4 full. That alone will cause the price of crude to go well over $110 a barrel by mid summer. translates into $4.00 diesel by the end of 2011.

I am not in agreement on it's the greedy wal st guys needing money. a lot of factors are in play here. I am a commodity trader. speculators do have a impact on prices, but they are the reason all commodity prices do not fluctuate at extreme levels. oil trading is a zero sum game. if any on on wall st. wanted to make some extra cash. oil speculation would i.m.o not be on the top of the list. :biggrin_255:

I don't know the rest of you, but the fuel price's are not what is hurting. it is everything else. the price increase in, groceries, tires, shop rates on truck service & part's, e.t.c. take a look at some of your receipts from just 2-3 years ago. fuel filters up 100 % brake chambers, tires, e.t.c. everthing up dramatically, not to mention utility bills, on & on. for me the fuel is just something we notice more , cause it is paid for daily & it stay's in our head , caus it's a constant daily cost.
Oh ok, makes perfect since.

Allot of loads are paying the difference in fuel prices up front or either negotiated in. The brokers are increasing the rates and some are a bit higher than others. Thanks, I got it now.... LOL....
Sort of, yeah rates will go up, but they go up slowly very very slowly.

Right now fuel prices are increasing, but I am not getting paid anymore since the rise. On the reverse side, rates will drop like a rock once the fuel price goes down.

Brokers don't raise the rate just because fuel prices increase. They raise the rate ONLY when they cant find enough "cheap freight" haulers to cover the loads they need to move.

    haulhand Thanks this.
