We are currently working out a contract with a private company. Local stops within 200 miles. We have worked out the cost per mile, and the charges for each stop. What is the right % for the fuel surcharge?
(We are usually a household goods mover, 1st time for freight.)

    thanks

The standard fuel surcharge is set weekly by the Department of Energy, usually on Monday I think. Check there website or you can find it on OOIDA web site i'm sure. Hope this helps some, I am no expert in this..

Ask 10 different guys and you'll get 10 different answers. My answer is you pay for .20 cents per mile (fuel cost per mile) and the surcharge should pay the rest.
