I would have to see it myself to be sure... But it sounds like your truck is set up to only draw fuel from and return fuel to 1 tank... And the blue hose is how fuel from secondary tank gets to the main... Every truck ive ever drove had 2 hoses to each tank... And some also had a cross over hose (the hose that connects the 2 tanks)
If the secondary tank ONLY HAS 1 HOSE and it just connects to the main tank... Well then all that plugging of lines does you no good because all youve managed to do was completely stop ALL fuel getting to the engine. To be able to run the engine with the lines to 1 tank plugged... The other tank has to have the same 2 hoses, NOT PLUGGED.

If you don't have a supply and return line running from your secondary tank towards the engine, it will not run properly. The primary tank should be isolated completely from the fuel pump and the secondary tank.
If your primary tank is the only one that supplies and receives fuel from the pump, and the blue line is to keep both tanks at the same level, then you're going to have to find a way to connect the lines to the secondary tank. Hopefully it has ports on it with valves that you can openCDL CPL and Cattleman84 Thank this. -
I have used a product called liquid steel on an aluminum fuel tank when a 3/8 bolt made a hole in it. I even used it with fuel running out of the hole for a temp fix, that turned out to be permanent. lol
It comes in a tube and is a 2 part epoxy type of deal, you mix together. -
How did you make out?
In my opinion time would have been better spent trying to temporarily block the leaking hole then to start pulling fuel lines off and blocking them.
Even if you manage to block the fuel lines and make the truck run you still would have fuel leaking out of the punctured tank at the same rate till it runs empty.
There are many methods of temporarily patching a fuel tank hole but I would need to know the size of the hole you were dealing with before I could recommend an effective method though. -
Ding ding u r the winner!! It's the worst when "run out fuel" while still actually having fuel. We did just that and stopped fuel from going to engine. Felt pretty dumb I'll sure tell you that. Turns out the other tank did have both set of hoses too not plugged so not sure how it happened.
Anywho managed to plug the "impossible" hole with a little JB Weld and some perseverance.
