I had fuel stolen twice in CA. First time at the rest area on Hwy 58 by Edwards AFB and the second time at Bruce's in Bakersfield. That was back when fuel prices's spiked. Best to not fill up and the park at the same place overnite in a place where your tanks are accessible. i learned to fill up before i left in the morning.

Fuel theft is common in Europe, especially around big cities, most trucks there use the locking fuel caps but it doesn't prevent it

If tire and oil prices go up like fuel I think we're going to see some major thefts. We used to leave all of our tires outside under a breezeway where they could be easily accessed. We're locking up inside the shop in a little room we built. Steel sides and walls. Steel doors. We call it the vault.
We also put the more commonly stolen items...alternators, fuel pumps, PTO pumps, and gallon oil jugs in there. We've haven't had a break-in in a long time but I think we might see them now.InTooDeep, bigguns, Rideandrepair and 7 others Thank this. -
This is why I put gasoline in mine, they won’t know what hit them when their truck doesn’t run!
Another Canadian driver, Rideandrepair, Long FLD and 2 others Thank this.
