Got in 538mi today before switching off in Laramie, WY on way to Washington. Anticipate running into weather by maybe early morning, but definately on my next shift tomorrow
Beautiful country up here, but windy as hell (and that's understating.things a lot!) and about to get cold & white again. We have a full load and wind rocking the boat quite a bit. Can definitely understand the light trailer warning signs they have all over. With the buffeting we're taking, I can easily see a light one going over.
I'm calling it a night. Been a long day & a longer and harder one tomorrow with weather. Now, if I can just sleep w/this truck doing the Mexican jumping bean while trainer drives........... -
Trainer had to drive about 4hrs through 60+ mi/hr winds & lot of snow over mountains in WY. By time I woke up & took over, we were in the clear. Enough snow & ice built up on tandems to put us bit over at scales. Cleared at scales, but we knocked most off & wound up fine at next scale.
Some snow, but road decent through "Cabbage" in Oregon. Pretty good long shift from Idaho to Prosser, WA near Yakima.
Beautiful scenery. I'm now in love with Oregon & Washington.Last edited: Jan 13, 2014

Yep, was toward end of my shift. Beautifully site coming down at night.
Dropped & picked up new load. Boston bound. Only 3000mi to go! -
Got in about 500mi today across MT and just into ND before switch. Beautiful day for the drive. Storms have been ahead of us so far.
Think I might like MT even more. Also see now why it's called "big sky" country. Beautiful state.
Also, being from where I'm from, got a kick out of they don't have deer crossing signs. They have elk crossing signs. Got to love it! -

Fairly full shift across WI, IL & into IN today. Good drive.
Went through/around Chicago at end of rush hour. Traffic heavy, but getting much easier to handle. Actually, a lot more comfortable with it. Not even any white knuckles this time!
Rolling along..... bit over 800mi to go.Last edited: Jan 16, 2014
