All the shops around my house are booked 2 weeks in advance and the nearest one (I'm by Chicago right now) is so god ###### over priced and the techs are dicks. Pozzo Mack and Volvo for those curious.x1Heavy Thanks this. -

Breaking down and taking it to a shop. More than likely boost related. Confirmed on hard decel with jake on, same noise comes up when turbo is under heavy load on jake. With a little luck, one of my v clamps I installed a few weeks ago isn't holding or the seal didn't make it.

Bad EGR means smoke out of exhaust.
If it was truly bad it has to be across the entire range of your engine RPM. If your engine (Beating dead, expired, kaput, still living in memory horse...) is making a particular scary noise at low cruise at 1300... wither you are not getting enough air and it has asthma Intercooler clamps are getting loose or maybe a regen or some wild situation of which I know nothing.
Think of the wildest problem that can starve the turbo. You probably checked the oil Maybe there is a pump that feeds oil to the Turbo.
I'll leave it here for now. -
So far-
CAC passes pressure test (checked warranties maintenance work, makes sense because it was replaced 18 months ago.) v clamps on CAC loops pass test, all tightened to spec.
Clamps and gaskets on egr look good, torqued to spec, horseshoe on egr confirmed not eh problem, clamps on dpf visually inspected but not torque tested due to the fact that I have stairs not skirts and removal takes the better part of half an hour, also I've been under stairs three times in the last month for sensor and harness issues on dpf, no soot or abnormal build up on or around dpf clamps.
We're all just kinda scratching our heads. First shops recommendation is to let it get worse and hopefully it will stop hiding. Taking it to another shop now to review first shops work.
Best two guesses so far- egr inlet gasket/clamp is failing, exauhst manifold gasket is failing.
First shop was shocked as #### I even heard the issue because they didn't find it on test drive. Had to take he guy out and he had to stick his head out the window to hear it.
The pluses of keeping you're head to the ground are many but now I get to sit and wait around while I wait for the most important thing in my life to break down.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
You are ahead of me.
Gaskets.
That's my final guess. Else failure in block or block componets.cabwrecker Thanks this.
