Good question. I want to know the same.
The stuff I bought from RC Willy Furniture about 18 mos. ago is ready for the dumpster.

I’ve bought a few things from big lots. Good price/quality and they delivered same day.

 

Second on big lots.

 

Southern makes good upholstery.

henredon makes good wood furniture, and harden makes good wood tables and chairs.
Best bet is estate or garage sales where the furniture is solid wood and over 40 yrs old

 

Restoration Hardware is starting to source from China.

Google "North Carolina Furniture Factories" or "North Carolina Sofas" and a couple of good lists will come up.

This is a large, like, fair or mall for NC makers.

Look at Costco, not because they have a great quality but my understanding is they have a company policy they only mark stuff up 15%. So you get what you pay for. Or maybe some Amish built stuff were they don't use staples to hold stuff together like most stuff is made today.

Anything good, furniture-wise, is going to be expensive but these are the types of pieces your grandkids will still have around. Correctly dried wood, good springs, good sewing, etc...No corners cut.

Don't go to ####ing Costco. JEsus.
