If you can get a ged at 16 and then work as a mechanic till you can drive a truck that might be ideal
BUT in the meantime, dont neglect your mind, i recommend audible psychology and economics books as a good way to get grounding in how people think and the way the world works. Harry potter may be fun but wont do the trick

You might want to get a Bachelors degree someday. Right now, you’re not going anywhere in a Truck. 2 years is a long time when you’re 16 years old. Soon enough you’ll be taking on responsibilities that have much longer commitments. Slow down, make your plan, work toward your goal. Meanwhile try your best to finish High School. Get it behind you. One step at a time. It’s really a show of discipline more than anything. Same with College. Employers don’t care what you Major in, what School you attended, or even how good you’re grade point average was. What they look at is the fact you completed what you started. Shows you are responsible enough to tough it out, stick with it and finish. Capable of getting the Job done. Apply yourself now, and develop some self discipline. The Character it builds will help you succeed in the future. School Sucks, everyone knows that. You can pass if you try, anyone can. Stick it out, the real education you’ll get is knowing you can accomplish things, even though it’s not what you’d rather be doing. That’s the same Character Trait you’ll need to succeed in whatever you do in Life. Nows your chance to start building responsibility.

I can relate to the O.P’s need or want to get to work. But as a truckin Dad that raised a boy who is now truckin I want to say nothin that kid has ever done that has made me any more proud was #1 graduating high school. #2 was buying his own Pete. Now I hated the idea of that at first till I came to realize watching him roll out of the sale barn the first time, for all the mistakes I made I musta done something right for him to want to follow as bad as he did. It sounds as you really look up too and respect your Dad, I’d say finish school if for no other reason than it won’t hold you back getting started and I’m sure it would mean a lot to him.
Just to say it truckin as you’ve seen it or know it is changing very quickly. Sure their are a few like myself that still do things our way. However I’m no fool and know our time is limited. Just a matter of time before there will be no room for me. At 50 I’ll just get by, but a young guy such as yourself may decide that continuing his education is the best path if the changes make it unsuitable to you. Not saying it will just never hurts to be preparedonetime42, exhausted379, Pete 389 and 3 others Thank this. -
