I like that I am tall enough I can see right over the mirrors. No more blind spot there.

That's one thing I don't like about my star, that passenger mirror and a-pillar block a lot.

Well to refresh, my DD15 is the one with turbo compounding. (505/1650) Got the first valve set done and had updates flashed into all three computers. Yes, three!!

I am very happy with the results. It now has instant throttle response right off idle. It pulls hard from 900 RPM.
I can let it drop to 900 RPM grossing 80,000 pounds on a hill, step on the throttle and it instantly goes to 35 PSI boost and accelerates. No more lug or dead spot.

The other good thing is while doing deliveries around town just loafing around, I noticed it was regening on it's own. The exhaust temp was staying 700*F. (measured at my box heat diverter)
Before it would never do a regen around town under light loads. I'd have to do a parked one every 8 hours or so. So it should be better now.

Fuel mileage should get better now too, since I can keep upshifting by 1400 and cruise under that.

Lone Ranger 13 and uncleal13 Thank this.

My DD16 has stumbled a couple of times now. Seems to happen the first time or two you try to get going in the morning. Never happens after that.
It's like you put your foot into it and it's not getting enough fuel. I've watched the low pressure fuel sensor, but it shows normal when it happens. Did not do it today.

Oscar the KW and rachi Thank this.

That's odd. Mine has never done that. It was just a little spongy off idle. But sometimes it pulled good depending on where it was in the regen cycle.

    No
No APU. Air conditioning isn't too much of an issue on the Canadian prairies. I use a Webasto engine and bunk heaters, much quieter than an APU. I use a 2,000 watt pure sign wave inverter to dupply power for cooking.

My DD16 does the same thing, once the water and oil get up close to operating temps it stops doing that, and it only does it in the first 3-4 gears, once in the high side of the trans it has never done it. What do you see out of yours for boost? I've never seen 35psi out of mine like the other guy with the DD15, 30psi from mine at most.

    uncleal13 Thanks this.

Generally just under 30 psi. Have seen over 33 psi when climbing in low range.

    Oscar the KW Thanks this.
