Want to see what quotes or what y'all are paying for your insurance in Georgia.

Is it a big bundle package like cargo, liability, bobtail, and physical?

Or are you guys at like $12k for just cargo and gen liability and then you also have the other insurance to pay as well?

If you mind posting I want to have an idea of what I could find when I put in my application and start doing some shopping for insurance.

    Looking for GA.

Well your going to be paying for what you need. Everybody’s thing is a bit different. Try Ooida, and get a real quote in your hand. Ooida will probably be cheaper for a new intranet. At least in my experience it was.

1m liability, 100k cargo is a minimum for most brokers.

Now I was talking to an insurance company today. He said around 14k broken up evenly.

I talked to someone in Texas just asking out of curiosity they said 3400 down and 1200 a month.

Here is the thing which I dont like.
The company I asked who does GA insurance I asked about adding trucks and he said it is still 14k per truck.
Yikes! How do you expand with that when u have to pay a driver.
So if insurance is that bad how do you get out of being a one truck show?

Guys have been posting of 18g to as low as 12g. Don't know about GA rates. That's just what's been posting.

I got my quote. Credit score might be a factor and possibly driving experience. Mine was under 12.

I was just quoted $17.5K in TX for a new authority and my broker said that was pretty good. Progressive, BTW.

Here is my thinking. Ok so say your at 18k a year for insurance. That is like .18 cpm of operating cost. Or .15 or .12 depending how much your paying. So 15k a year is .15.

    So 18k is like 18% or 14k is 14%

Or lease onto carrier doing 90% to you with some insurance deductions for the cargo and gen liability. Depending on how much your charged. So your about the same as a lease on deal. Maybe your charged 500 a month. Ok makes it 90 go to 85%.
But the main thing is the rates.
I'm seeing garbage dry van rates on dat. But flatbed is a lot better. 2.05, 1.82, 2.54, 2.10, etc. Then I'm seeing a lot of partials so perhaps u can make some extra bank with those partials.

But I'm gonna see how running this side of the country does me with rates b4 I do any changing. Got to know more about if it's worth it.

If I am net 1.90 all
And seeing $2 on dat with authority loaded

Then I'll prob be at 1.65 net all mileage
With say 15% of deadhead so I would want to be booking loads for 2.30 but the market is swarming with low cheap trucks underbidding or large carriers who can or should be able to take the lowball hits better then me.

I switched companies looking for better rates. But see some are better some aren't.
Now it isn't easy where I am at but the guys who I met who have authority are getting home more often. Prob bc that DAT has a lot of loads everywhere. That would be nice to be able to have the option to do that

Now u have to be sure if physical and bobtail is on it. I would highly suggest getting bobtail. Hopefully it isn't to high

    .15cpm at $1 per mile is 15%.
    .15cpm at $2pm is more like %7
    .15cpm at $3 is 5%.

U just gotta do what you think is right for you. People get their own authority for different reasons. I was at Landstar for about 5 years, left, went to a 20 truck company @87%. I Was booking the freight and paying $300 a week for insurance. Forced dispatch would come through from time to time. That 13% paid into the lease deal was really adding up some weeks. For what? Just to sign my rate can and act as a factoring company?... file my IFTA report?

How can u add trucks if it is like 14k per additional truck?
Are their policies with a truck limit say if 3 or 5 with your 14k annual cost of insurance?
I could see maybe 500 more per month on one unit but not an entire insurance amount. I don't see where u could pay a driver with that cost to make money.

I'm at LS now. Yes it's been a bit of back biting w some of the agents. I like the low deductions here but that's the thing, the percentage taken is a bit high here so I am considering getting out and going own numbers.
