I've been practicing my trip planning before school, and I use my atlas, GPS and either Mapquest, Rand Mcnally or Google online to make sure they match as much as possible. Still hope to be able to call the shipper/receiver for directions, but from what I have read, Swift isn't providing the phone # on their directions? I tried the Maptuit online. Opinions about it's accuracy, or lack thereof?

they dont provide the phone # ??
thats not good--most of the larger stops have a real good voice recording giving you directions and such--but maybe since swift does the routing--they figure you dont need it--who knows?

I recall reading a recent thread that Swift was going to a new macro system for directions and using Maptuit, and the phone #'s weren't on the directions? I could have misunderstood, so hopefully a Swift driver will jump in and confirm if this is correct.

why would they shatner a brick?? I've had a laptop stand on my truck since Jan. of 2009. Well...at first it was just a wooden TV tray i bought form Wal-Mart for $10 bucks, then it was an actual stand. What i found, that i use now, found it on eBay. All it is, is a machine lathed plexi-glass top and 1/2" water pipe. and the pipe is covered up by vacume hose.

big deal if swift sees it. they've seen it in my company truck since Jan of 2009....and however many times my company truck was in the shop.....never said a thing.

they dont provide the number on the directions.....so what...they're in your dispatch anyway. just hit "PREV MSG" and go back and WRITE IT DOWN. its pretty simple. besides, half the time the number dont work, or its a number to a voice mail box. so then you just call 411 and get the main desk line and have them transfer you to shipping and receiving....
