    Hey Guys,

I found a possible job in Bakersfield driving a Hydro vac Truck around the Oil fields. I just got my CDL A without any experience. I would like to be driving a Tanker truck in the near future. Do you think driving a vac truck would help me out with experience?

    Thanks

Doesn't sound like much OTR experience, but if your looking to stay local in your move to Tanker Trucking I don't see where it would hurt.

Local jobs count only towards local experience. OTR experience only is gained on the road in 5-7 states or more and only in the past 3 years. A 20 year long haul driver can take a 3 year break and he is considered zero experience again. But local would see him still with 20 years. It's kind of messed up but the long haul insurance companies call the shots.
