It seems like my radio is stuck between channels. Receive and transmit. Any suggestions would help.

it sounds like it is probably a solder joint problem. it is a very cheap fix if you can take it to a technician that you can trust. that is one of the demons with a galaxy radio. one they are fixed, they are as good as new. i have had a few radios do this over the years, all of them were galaxy radios. the fix takes about an hour or so to run down and perform.

what you can do is take the cover off and expose the circuitboard side. that is the cover without the speaker. take an insulated tool, such as a handle of a screwdriver, and with the radio on, slowly and firm, rub the handle against the board till you have done the entire board. i bet you will hear it pop back to life for an instant. this will not hurt the radio unless your pressing on the board like you are trying to punch holes in a steel wall so give it a shot.

if you are uneasy about trying that test, just take it to a radio shop and have it repaired.

You must provide better symptoms if you want someone to diagnose it sight unseen. Does the RX/TX LED look off color like both colors are lit at once? If so you may have a 1 watt PNP transistor (2SA1282 or similar part) shorted or leaky, TR 36 or TR 38. A few other components in that circuit could be the cause but these two parts are what you should look at first.

Ok here is the update. Took radio to technician. I was told finals were out and he replaced them. radio worked good for two days. Now it is doing the same thing as before. Is something blowing the finals such as a short? Should I find someone else to work on this radio?

A bad coax will fry your finals. Check your swr if they are too high that can burn your finals up.

Are you sure that the 10k switch is off?
