Galaxy 949 with built in amp?

you meant CB and the Linear amp? and also didnt get the answer to my question,does my setup would damage the truck's components or not?Thank you..

 

different antennas will perform differently on different vehicels . mag mounts work great on some vehicels , not so good on others . if you have a good size steel roof that has good RF ground all the way to the chassie of the vehicle they normally do just fine . if your gonna run more than a few hundred watts of extra heat then do a hole mount .

 

i bought the Galaxy 98vhp and it puts out 245 wats and dosent get hot but it has the big heat sink and built in fan

 

what he means is the antenna will get "hot" meaning the paint might warp.

 

he needs a better antenna then!!!!!!

 

The 949 is a great radio if tuned by the right person. The Connex line of radio's are also great radio's if tuned by the right person. I've run them all at one point or another. But, right now I'm running a General Lee. It is the same as the Connex 3300 but with a better board. Tuned by the right person it will do a very nice sounding 50 watts. I have monkeyed around a bunch of antenna's and right now I am running a Wilson 5000 magnet mount. It works great. Bottom lin is that you get a good radio and have it tuned by a good Tech. and then you get yourself a good antenna and tune it right and you will have a awesome sounding set up. I'e heard reat things about Sparky's radio Shack. I will be sending him my Galaxy 99V so he work his magic on it.
