Estes doesn’t look like they are currently hiring but when they start hiring again try them. They have a very large terminal in LaVergne/Smyrna which would be a reasonable drive from Gallatin.

Finally got a call back from First Fleet, they have 2 accounts in Gallatin so we’ll see what might come of that. I don't see myself doing much in the way of commuting, hours in a truck followed by an hour or more drive home just isn’t for me. I know guys do it, I don’t.

I drove for First Fleet in Portland; ran loads all the way to Los Angeles.
Didn't mention First Fleet to you earlier because I didn't know they had local work, which is what you posted you want.
First Fleet is part of Averitt Express.

I’ve seen the ad for Portland, my traveling days are done, I’ve been local for a lot of years, not willing to change that now. I’ve also looked in to SRM (Smyrna ready mix), their bulk tanks pay well, they’re parked off of Briley though at Ashland City Hwy, miles wise not terribly far, it’s the traffic that’s a nightmare.

if you want to learn something relatively different — J&D Specialized hauling is out of Lebanon

Could ask them about local positions, I know they got quite a few day cabs.

    Trashtrucker1707 Thanks this.

Spoke with both SRM and First Fleet on Friday(in person). Tons of hours available at SRM, OT after 8 hours daily, then at 40 straight OT, bit of a ride to where the trucks are parked and a rough schedule, mix of nights and early AM hours working your 14 daily. First Fleet is in Gallatin, day cab positions, very nice terminal manager, seems like an easy job running corrugated boxes for a few main customers, much easier schedule but less money than SRM. Still not sure if I’m even ready to leave FL, been brutally cold here this weekend!
