There was thread earlier this year on it so you might find it of help.

    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...-connection/200044-new-garmin-dezl-760-a.html

In a nutshell, it is a well built unit that performs well, has some mapping issues that would not be specific to this unit, the traffic is nice but the Alternate Route feature is unusable (I use the Inrix Traffic app), the unit is supposed to track your driving history so it will use your speed in trip calculations but that has not happened and it is awfully big to mount on your windshield but the suction cup on the mount isn't strong enough to go anywhere else.

I had first purchased the Co-Pilot GPS but was very disappointed in the quality and how it worked and the Garmin is far superior in those aspects.

i love Garmin product,I've seen a few others and I always buy Garmin, but you are right about everything you said about it. I thought the new" trucker " Garmin was going to be JUST FOR US...i.e. truck routes. Well that's too bad,bc is it really that frigen hard to build? Geez and these software folks make a killing, but can't figure out how to identify "low bridges, and truck routes" UGH:biggrin_25510:

I could be wrong but it is my understanding that Garmin buys the maps from somebody else (as does most of the manufacturers) so it is their suppliers problem. Which then of course becomes our problem.

The only functionality issue I have with the unit is not being able to program in the speed you travel for trip planning. Not a big deal as it is simple math to figure out your correct ETA but it should be standard on any truck GPS.

I like the ETA when its in Nav. My dashboard shows ETA time, Miles left and time count down. Here is a pic of it in my truck, the picture kind of sucks because I can see all of the fish eye mirror. The pic shows it 1/2 blocked but visibility has not been a problem for me at all with it. Maybe I will get a working video of it at some point too.

Yeah looks like a Freightliner dash. I have a Pro Star, NO way to put anything on my dash. Does the suction cup hold it up,or is it propped up by the dash?

Remember, if you get stopped in MN, the GPS can not be above the top of the steering wheel.

Yeah its a POS Columbia LOL.. The suction cup hold on the glass just fine so NO the dash is not supporting the GPS. I even had it on the "face" of the dashboard on the fake wood panels. just below the Johnny bar

Giiiiiirl I used to have a Coulumbia too.. Ran like a striped arse ape,but the darn dash, doors, and everything else was falling off!!! I thought I'd be driving like the Flinstones before too long Lol
But it had a brand new complete overhaul( died on me in Knoxville) so I ran it hard until I sold it.

ok kool on the GPS,was just in the T/S eyeballing them again.:biggrin_2559:

You sure are having better luck than me. I tried the face of the dash and it wouldn't stay put and now mounted on the windshield, I have to rest it on the dash.

It can be changed to show what is on your route and what is near your destination, showing nearby is just the default.
