OK it looks like I could make the 770 work. Other then the bigger screen what is better on the 770? From what I'm reading it looks like it has better traffic not sure what else.

5 inch screen is plenty big for me. I guess I need to be sold on what else is better on the 770.

I bought the 570 a week or so ago. The only notable differences aside from the obvious size was the addition of HD Traffic & bluetooth support for a headset.

Overall I like the 570 with the exception that I hate how the new address search is set up. I like the old where you pick the State, then city, then street address.
Now (unless there is a way to change it) you search a street address & the unit will try to match it in various cities or States.

    Thanks.

What is the difference between HD traffic and regular traffic?

I'm liking the more better detail of HD traffic. Faster refresh rates, better description what's going on.

Garmin Traffic (formerly known as 3D Traffic)

Requires the use of a compatible traffic receiver or traffic antenna cableOnly available within#designated coverage areasTraffic data refreshes every 5 minutesTraffic information is basic. For example, "Slow traffic ahead,"# "Accident ahead," "Construction ahead," etc...

Live Traffic (formerly known as 3D Live Traffic)

Used with our nuLink! and LIVE devicesAlso available as a premium Smartphone Link subscription on your mobile phoneOnly available within#designated coverage areasTraffic data refreshes every 2 minutes and receives more than 1,000 messages every update cycleProvides the same type of information you see with Garmin Traffic

HD Digital Traffic (formerly known as 3D Digital Traffic)

Requires the use of the GTM 60 traffic receiver with a compatible deviceOnly available within#designated coverage areasTraffic data refreshes as often as every 30 seconds - that's up to 20 times more often than other analog traffic receiversProvides more detailed descriptions of traffic alerts. For example, "Stalled car in left lane," "Long-term construction ahead," "Debris in roadway," etc...Provides basic weather information#including current temperature, 6 day forecast, and more details

If I'm reading that correctly I will need a special cord or antenna for traffic on the 770?

Traffic is not real important to me. I mainly hang out in the upper Midwest traveling a lot of back roads.

Makes sure you plug it in and check for updates. There was a update last week for maps, device software.

Better yet, just have that bad boy shipped to me. I'm sure you are a busy guy. For no fee to you I can update the 770 and run it for a while to make sure it is performing up to snuff. No need to thank me, just enjoy being helpful.

    MJ1657 and moosc Thank this.
