garmin gps question

I got a basic garmin 255w. I plan on hauling water to oil wells. These oil wells are typically on lease roads in the middle of no where. To get to these wells, I will be given written instructions. When I drive to these locations for the first time, I would like to record them in my gps.

So, my question is this, will I have to set a way point for every turn I make on these lease roads or will the gps automatically remember them as long as I save my final destination (which would be the well) on my favorites?
