See, this is what is so amazing to me... The fact that pretty much everything is impacted by truck transport. Ya'll are pretty much on the ground-level of the economy, making things happen. Amazing.

Yes, it's true and the majority of the general public doesn't realize this fact. They don't concern themselves with how groceries get to the store or how construction products get to home depot, etc.... It's not because they are ignorant it's just because that's the way society is nowadays. I just hope and pray that the general public gets themselves educated about these kinds of things and get mad enough to start calling and writing their elected officials in washington.

I think that the public generally thinks that it is the cost of dairy, wheat etc. that is driving their costs up, not other, somewhat hidden factors that they usually don't think about.

As for the "getting the public educated" thing, I'm working on it... :biggrin_25525:

Socy, you just opened up a whole other can of worms there. ETHANOL PRODUCTION, i knew this crap was coming when they first started talking about it. I told my wife it would drive the price of everything else up and sho nuff it's happened. I used to haul milk and i can't tell you how tough the poor dairy farmers heck, any livestock farmer right now has it. The price of feed has skyrocketed because corn has. I live in middle GA, just a few hours south of here are nothing but peanut fields. Last summer though guess what them peanut farmers were growing, it sure wasn't peanuts. Same thing for other crops i'm sure, they're going to have to come up with something else

I've wondered myself how farmers were going to adapt. Shoot, the prices of beer have already gone up because of farmers replacing wheat production for corn production.

...And that affects me directly! :biggrin_2559:

My brother is quitting a CO, won't name them, will let him, for writing him up for idling too much this winter according to the company average. They sent him to snow country almost every trip and some were from NC to WI-MI where it was below 0. They use some kind of bunk heater which is adequite to about 40 degrees. But it is a trickle down affect anyway. Remeember there are 2 rules to plumbing, S___ runs down hill, the boss is always right. Any Questions?
