Colonial Pipeline blames ransomware for network shutdown
I wonder if this will cause more shortages, I guess it depends on if they can bring it back online fast enough. Might cause another slow down for gas haulers in the east coast like when the pandemic hit.
My record was about over 140 hrs, 32 on a single shift was the highest and normal day was close to 20 hrs. Overtime after 8 hrs will give you a lot of energy.
Gas shortage this summer?

So it operates almost like a plunger-lift oil well; it operates on slug flow. The fact that it doesn't operate on continuous flow makes me curious as to why the air escapes through a vent valve instead of through the water outlet. Vapor recovery?
Anyway, it sounds like a cool piece of equipment. -
Good time to haul gas.
FMCSA is issuing a temporary hours of service exemption that applies to those transporting gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and other refined petroleum products to Alabama, Arkansas, District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

Thank God I’m not in one of those states. I barely make it to 14 hrs/day and 65-70 hrs/week. Any more and I’d be in trouble.ibcalm19 Thanks this.

If you head near Pensacola, FL you may want to fuel up. They ran out of gas already.
Nobody can force you to drive if you don't want to, you might get into their #### list but that's about it. -
We've been getting screwed by that tariff for decades. Only Canada would be dumb enough to pay money to export their product.

Strictly panic buying. I haul fuel.
The only part of Florida affected is the Tallahassee area. It’s distribution terminal is Bainbridge Georgia part of Colonial.
The rest of Florida gets its fuel by barge or ship. Pensacola, Freeport, Panama City, Tampa, Port Everglades, Canaveral and Jacksonville.HiramKingWilliams, Redtwin, Cat sdp and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yeah the panic buying for sure, just like every other shortage, as well as some other issues they had in that particular location with the EPA. Boats can get prioritized to other locations and affect supply lines, just like it happens with every shortage. We got a car shortage because of a chip shortage and a whole bunch of other shortages because of that.
Diesel shortage might create a shortage of #### near everything but I would think they would prioritize fuel for trucks or at least you would hope. I'm sure they'd rather most people stay home in any case with the whole covid thing. -
Probably a good thing the cruise ships ain't running. I imagine they burn a bit of fuel.
