We weren't required to use them, I thought it was strange too, coming from hauling oil myself. If you drop a lil gas/dsl no problem, drop some oil and it's a freaking mess. We did open up all dust caps while on the rack so we didn't have any residual at the customer.

Deleted. I forgot that we were talking about Fuel, not Chemicals. My comment had nothing to do with fuel hauling

By the time a driver gets to us he's well seasoned and knows how to keep himself...and us...out of trouble.
LOL...we don't want one of our trucks being the lead story on tonight's Channel 12 News. -
You're going to learn how to back on the job. They just want to assess your abilities. You will learn how to back a truck or trailer quickly. All you do is back it up like you normally would, and watch that back trailer. Immediately when you see that back trailer getting off the straight and narrow path, make the exact opposite move with your wheel in the same amount of time. This will force the tractor to manipulate the trailer in such a manner, that it will always straighten out. Picture the crossbar is always moving left, and then right, and then left, and then right. It will always do this. You must make subtle movements with the wheel to keep it straight, never overcorrect or you'll be too far off track and have to pull up. Don't be afraid to use pull-ups also
