I stopped at Alabama, I-20, exit 17, L&B TRUCK PLAZA, yesterday and the HELL broke loose. I put about 150 gallons of diesel and the perfectly running truck start misfiring 20 minutes after that and the motor shut off. First I checked the fuel filter and replaced with new one, cleaned the fuel lines to the tank with air, no restriction anywhere, then put some fresh diesel in the fuel filter and with someone spraying starting fluid into the air filter, the truck started again. Ran for about 10 minets perfectly and shut off again. I replaced the fuel pump $311, cleaned the fuel lines, the same thing, the motor ran 10 minutes and shut off. Grrrrr, WTF??? The only thing will be some dirt on the bottom of the tanks. Removed the plugs from the bottom of the tanks and started draining some fuel in a clean container to see if any dirt is coming out, immediately I noticed the strong smell of Gasoline, WTF??? The fuel was clean, but THIS IS NOT DIESEL, is some kind of mixture that was more than 70% Gasoline. I called the owner of the truck stop and He insisted, maybe I got the bad fuel from the gas station before that, no go, that was TA and the truck ran perfectly for about 400 miles. Then He agreed to check the fuel on pump No 3, we both noticed the smell of gasoline, then He tryed all the pumps - the same smell of gasoline. He agreed to drain all the fuel from my tanks and give me a refund, then He purchased 40 gallons of Diesel from the Shell across the street and I was on my way. But what about the money I spend on the new pump and filter and 10 hours of my time and also $200 for a taxi cab to get all the parts? Where and who do I complain to?
Gasoline in diesel, who do I complain to?

How many threads on the same subject are you going to make?

You would have to get a lawyer to go any further. Check and see how many more complaints they have had.

@truckon This thread has a question on the end......

All of our paperwork from the loading rack is time stamped, it'll show exactly what was on his trailer, you can figure out what was put in the tanks.

I use to deliver fuel and it falls on the store and the fuel delivery company. The driver made the error of not making sure he put the right product in the right tank. Its all falls on the fuel company but you need to talk with the store owner to find out what company delivered the gas
cmbks21 Thanks this. -

You should have demanded all your expenses when you dealt with the owner of the truck stop for the reimbursement you already received.
Your only recourse would be to sue the truck stop in small claims court for the remaining amount but the court will likely see your acceptance of what they already gave you as a settlement and throw the case out.Last edited: May 31, 2015
