    Hello,
Was wondering if anyone can help with this issue. The backlight of my dash gauges (speedometer, air brake, etc) is currently not working. Other lights (like the AC cluster, the 5th wheel slide, and the air dump) are working, however. Looked at the fuse panel diagram, and thought it was C10, but that fuse is good. Does anyone know what fuse controls the gauges backlight in a Peterbuilt 579, made in 2020? Thanks for any help!

While i dont know that truck, i would lean towards that gauge cluster just having a broken or loose or disconnected positive. Pretty sure if you have backlight on all the rest, it shouldnt be a fuse

It may be controlled by a module.
You can try unhooking the batteries, then after hooking them back up do a few key cycles without starting.
Sometimes if you don’t allow all the modules to communicate before starting the truck, then you may have problems.

Both KW and Petes have this problem.
It is not a fuse. It is a combination of the ignition switch and the body computer.
With the truck OFF, work the ignition switch several times. Basically wiggle it. Sometimes after the ignition switch is shut off for a while, it will start working again. Sounds goofy but it is what it is.

Don’t turn the key and fast start it. Give it a few seconds after you turn the key to let the ABS cycle and let all the modules start booting up before you start the truck.
