Gauges jumping up and down - electronic shortages at the dash board

    Some times tachometer, speedometer and gauges start jumping up and down. Shutdown engine then start again and problem disappear. One of my known mechanic said that it is the electronic shortages at the dash board. Just want to get some advices before start troubleshooting the dash board panel.

    Check and clean ALL your grounds!

    Check all electrical connections.

    1. Well I had this kind a problem after bein park few months i think may 4-5mos and the problem existd for about a weak and usualy it was happening when ever i hit little bump so i just clean up all the grounds and retide battery and cables and the starter cables too and the problem disappear oh also cleaned the ecm fuse back on the batterys.. m y truck 2003 columbia with MBE 4000.

    Didnt say nothing about a backup battery, but if you are talking about the fuse. its usualy on top of the battery.you cant miss it.. but also check every thing in that area to be as it should be tide.

    the batteries located in the back comportment behind the cab or you talking about other batteries?
