Most of the haters out there think they don't know any gay or lesbian people. Truth is they probably interact with them everyday without knowing. The homophobic trash comments I hear on the CB and truck stops is mostly just male bravado posturing. Ignore them, do your job and forget about the bigots.

Seriously, humor needs to be left at the door? If that is the case, you better get a refund on your CDL class. I haven't met trucker yet without some kind of sense of humor...especially here in the oilfield. As for sexuallity being left at the door, if you truly believed that, then what is up with this thread? You trying to make some pro-gay statement? I have a very good friend who I'd gay as the day is long and you want see him asking questions like this one. He is one of the coolest guys you will ever meet and he leaves that stuff at home and goes to work doing the best job he can do.

To the Bible thumpers, remember that guy around 2000 years ago that said, "Judge not, lest you be judged".
To everyone else, live and let live. Is it really going to make any difference if someone is homosexual or not? Will the world end? Will you be scarred for life if you find the guy you've been having an intelligent conversation with turned out to be one of "them"?
There was a guy that was on one of the Canada fleets with me. We'd see each other practically every day. I knew he was a homosexual from the day I met him. I never let it bother me. He helped me, and I'd help him, and we spent many hours on the road together. After around 6 month's of this he asked me,"Do you know I'm gay?". I was at loss for words, I finally just looked at him and asked,"What's your pointe?"
I've lost track of the guy over the years, but he's still welcome at my house. He was one of the more intelligent drivers I've ever met.
